The third Mobile Dental Providers Australia conference, MDPA24, was a landmark event in mobile dentistry. Held at Rydges World Square in Sydney, it featured up to 12 hours of CPD, interactive workshops, and a full day of presentations. The event included workshops on providing education in childcare centers, oral health training in aged care facilities, and caries control with SDF and the latest restorative materials. The full day of lectures covered topics such as treatment planning, infection control, Medicare compliance, clinical governance, and patient data control. The conference also hosted a trade exhibition with over 12 exhibitors, showcasing the latest dental technologies and services.

Age-Defy Dentistry: Direct restorative management of geriatric oral health
AgeDefy Dentistry was a hands-on course designed to equip dental professionals with skills in direct restorative management for the ageing population. The course covered physiological changes in the oral cavity due to aging, providing a foundation for understanding the specific dental needs of older patients. Participants gained practical insights into the impact of age-related factors on oral health, including systemic conditions, medications, and lifestyle influences. The workshop included demonstrations and practical exercises on various restorative approaches and dental materials, emphasizing evidence-based preventive care and personalized treatment plans. Dr. RL Halili-Castillo, with over 18 years of experience, led the course, sharing her extensive clinical knowledge and expertise in restorative dentistry.

The "Taking the Leap into Mobile Dentistry" webinar, hosted by MDPA on Monday, December 4th, was a free event conducted via Zoom. The webinar featured an expert panel of experienced mobile dental business owners, including Shida, Jacquie, Bec, and Brenda, who answered attendees' questions and provided valuable insights into mobile dentistry.

The event on July 8th, 2023 featured a lineup of expert speakers who provided valuable insights into the latest developments in mobile dental services. The event included a hands-on workshop and a large trade exhibition where attendees networked with industry professionals and explored the latest technology and products. Held at 186 Exhibition Street, Melbourne, the event offered 6 hours of CPD and concluded with networking drinks. Presentations covered topics such as teledentistry, growth goals, compassionate communication, mobile practice management, and more.

MDPA: Marketing- Dentolegal-Business
The online live webinar held on Saturday, February 4th, 2023, was an unrecorded event featuring topics requested by Facebook group members and delegates from previous conferences. The webinar provided 3 hours of unscientific CPD and included presentations on dental marketing, the challenges of mobile dentistry, and business basics. Carolyn Dean shared dental marketing secrets, Dr. Simon Parsons discussed the pitfalls of mobile dentistry, and Simon Deduhin covered essential business structures and legal requirements. This interactive session aimed to equip dental professionals with practical knowledge and strategies for their practices.

Online Webinar- Infection Prevention & control for mobile dental providers
The presentation by Kylie Robb for the Mobile Dental Providers Australia Conference in Sydney in July 2022 was made available nationally on September 27th, 2022, via Zoom. This online event provided 1 hour of CPD and focused on infection control guidelines and the Code of Conduct for mobile dentistry. Kylie discussed the principles of infection prevention and control (IPC) outside traditional dental practice settings, crafting a strategic risk-based approach to IPC tailored to specific business models, and key risk considerations for mobile dental providers with practical management approaches.

VOLUNTEERING
Being mobile dental providers one of our goals is to provide care to those who can’t reach a fixed practice, be it aged care, childcare, disability services, or rural remote patients, we all have the drive to provide care to those who need it most.
Social responsibility is very important to MDPA and we believe we have the ‘equipment’ in all sense of the word to provide care to those who need it most including the homeless.
